The Nightwatch and top notch music

The Nightwatch book:

A book with vampires, magicians, shapeshifters and whatnot. Of course I liked it. Anton Gorodetsky, a nifty not-perfect main character as ever (and a programmer(++)). All kinds of characters with their peculiarity, and not really an evil vs. good book.

Top moments:
Anton fighting his first vampire
Tiger Cub and Bear watching over Egor
Olga and Anton switching bodies
Maxim becoming Inquisitor

Coolest Characters:
Anton
Tiger Cub
Maxim
Semyon

The Nightwatch movie:

heh. I like that they spoke russian. And Tiger Cub, but we don't really see her much. maybe 30 seconds if we're lucky :P
This movie is the one that is the most like the book; it's generally the same storyline, a few twitches here and there. But the only thing that actually improved the story was making Egor the son of Anton.
Other than that, they changed the character personalities, some abilities without much success. And the way they made the magic look, did not work out.
However, the action sequence with the vampire had a great concept. But I still prefer the book's solution.

Daywatch movie:
Another 10 seconds of Tiger Cub, huzzah! This is the movie where the writers really take off, and makes the story FUBAR. Half of the time I barely knew what was going on. There is more eyecandy in this movie, though it seems to be added to cover the confusing story. And they manage to do the body switch funny, with the male complaining over how the female body works etc.

+ Tiger Cub, very nifty effects at times, the Anton actor does a good job
- Too little Tiger Cub, lack of digital effects where they should be, unfortunate story rape, doesn't explain why things are done/happen.

Still, I do look forward to Dusk Watch.

Music:

http://myspace.com/asbloodrunsblack -> Chug Chug, the bottom song.

http://myspace.com/thefaceless -> An Autopsy

http://myspace.com/demonhunter -> Any song from the new album *love*

http://www.purevolume.com/becomingthearchetype -> Into Oblivion, The Epigone (for real growling), they don't have One Man Parade there though :(

In other news, I am turning the garden into a strategic defensive position. We have high walls in front along with natural barriers so that we may hurry over and toss them down again if they try. And then we have the next section of snow forts, that will basically have a clean shot at anything that got past the first forts. And it will continue like that all the upwards until we get to the top of the hill. Of course, they'll never get that far.

Results from aquired tests to see who I really am (I've highlighted the important parts to make it easier to skim the text):

introverted, secretive, reclusive, tough, non social, observer, fearless, solitary, libertarian, detached, does not like to lead, outsider, abides the rules, mind over heart, good at saving money, does not like to stand out, does not make friends easily, self sufficient, not aggressive, likes the unknown, unconcerned with external opinion, strong, abstract, independent, very intellectual, analytical, high self control.

I can dig that.

---------------------

Valorous! Noble! Or possibly just a self-righteous jerk, You are a Paladin!
Paladins are holy warriors. They are valorous defenders of the light. Unfortunately, most of them are so ardent in their defense they tend to meet sticky ends faster than you can say "rampaging red dragon." Many people look up to Paladins, while others just consider them stuck up, overbearing, or self-righteous.
Much like the crusades, you manage to combine violence and religion. You may be a staunch defender of the faith, a valorous champion of the weak, or the stuff that jihads are made of.
Remember: Just because someone doesn't agree with you, doesn't mean you should hurt them.

Can dig that too.
----------------------

The compassion to pursue good, the will to uphold law, and the power to defeat evil-these are the three weapons of a paladin. Few have the purity and devotion that it takes to walk the paladin's path, but those few are rewarded with the power to protect, heal, and to smite. In land of scheming wizards, unholy priests, bloodthirsty dragons, and infernal fiends, the paladin is the final hope that cannot be extinguished.

Can dig that more.

Oj oj oj!

Nye pene ting å se på, bra musikk å høre på. Sykt.

Ellers så fant jeg ut at jeg var syk den dagen vi fikk historie oppgaven som skal leveres imorgen. Så det er jo tøft da.
