The Nightwatch book:
A book with vampires, magicians, shapeshifters and whatnot. Of course I liked it. Anton Gorodetsky, a nifty not-perfect main character as ever (and a programmer(++)). All kinds of characters with their peculiarity, and not really an evil vs. good book.
Top moments:
Anton fighting his first vampire
Tiger Cub and Bear watching over Egor
Olga and Anton switching bodies
Maxim becoming Inquisitor
Coolest Characters:
Anton
Tiger Cub
Maxim
Semyon

The Nightwatch movie:
heh. I like that they spoke russian. And Tiger Cub, but we don't really see her much. maybe 30 seconds if we're lucky :P
This movie is the one that is the most like the book; it's generally the same storyline, a few twitches here and there. But the only thing that actually improved the story was making Egor the son of Anton.
Other than that, they changed the character personalities, some abilities without much success. And the way they made the magic look, did not work out.
However, the action sequence with the vampire had a great concept. But I still prefer the book's solution.
Daywatch movie:
Another 10 seconds of Tiger Cub, huzzah! This is the movie where the writers really take off, and makes the story FUBAR. Half of the time I barely knew what was going on. There is more eyecandy in this movie, though it seems to be added to cover the confusing story. And they manage to do the body switch funny, with the male complaining over how the female body works etc.
+ Tiger Cub, very nifty effects at times, the Anton actor does a good job
- Too little Tiger Cub, lack of digital effects where they should be, unfortunate story rape, doesn't explain why things are done/happen.
Still, I do look forward to Dusk Watch.

In other news, I am turning the garden into a strategic defensive position. We have high walls in front along with natural barriers so that we may hurry over and toss them down again if they try. And then we have the next section of snow forts, that will basically have a clean shot at anything that got past the first forts. And it will continue like that all the upwards until we get to the top of the hill. Of course, they'll never get that far.
